WEST TAYLOR

West Taylor (he/him) is a songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer (Moe Reen, Sean Marshall, Gilded Sun, Eli Van Sickel), as well as the founding owner of Space Canoe Records. Growing up on Deer Creek outside of Mt. Sterling, Ohio, West was heavily influenced by the Appalachian voices he heard in the church as he looked up to the archetypal singing cowboys he and his grandfather watched on TV. West continues the reverberation of his love for Mountain Music and the Country cassettes his family listened to on the road.

In 2024, he released his debut album Available Parts (produced by Jesse Henry), as well as the A/B-sided single Back Behind The Bar/Give The Farmer A Break!. His second LP, recorded live in a hunting cabin, will be released in 2026.

  • "The truth comes out in his singing voice. He means what he sings."

    — Tom Brosseu, “The Great American Folk Show”

  • “(Available Parts) is a panoramic view of folk and older style country music and as you get further into the album, the tunes get richer with meaning.”

    — Elise Cady, “Americana Highways”

  • “That same sense of promise amid hard times carries through Available Parts. And even in those moments when the musician stares down heartbreak, he does so in a warm, inviting musical tone, his songs kissed with sunlight despite the encroaching dark.”

    — Andy Downing “Matter News”
